Great Falls, SC – Super Independent Baseball has announced that Greg Balec has joined the organization as the Great Lakes Division Development Director.
“I am definitely excited about being a part of Super Independent Baseball,” said Balec. “I look forward to working with the league in developing the Great Lakes Division and bringing minor league baseball home to these communities.”
“Greg is a guy with hands on experience in the minor league baseball industry and we are excited for him to assist in the development of the Great Lakes Division,” said Super Independent Baseball President Jamie Toole.
Greg enters his first year in independent minor league baseball after serving five years in an executive role with the Thunder Bay Border Cats. As General Manager / Director of Business and Baseball Operations, Mr. Balec guided the only Canadian franchise in the 14 team, US based Northwoods League to back-to-back league championship appearances and one league championship title.
Mr. Balec guided the franchise through substantial yearly increases in revenues, fan base, souvenir sales and community support...all the watching 32 former players move up through the professional baseball ranks. Prior to his baseball career, Mr. Balec served in an executive role with Warner Music Canada handling promotional and marketing campaigns for many of today's successful recording artists.
Mr. Balec resides in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada with his wife Sandra and their three children Nicholas, Aimee-Leigh and Mason.
