SIB HONORS JACKIE ROBINSON

Great Falls, SC – Super Independent Baseball has announced that the organization will honor baseball legend Jackie Robinson with various league programs.

The league has announced the retirement of the number “42” for all individual clubs that participate in league play. As a part of this retirement, a public display honoring Jackie Robinson will be erected in each SIB facility. The league has also announced the creation of “Junior Jacks” which is a program designed to provide free baseball instruction to at risk children in communities that host Super Independent League clubs.

“Jackie Robinson, more than any other professional baseball player in our great game’s history, made a remarkable impact on our national pastime,” said SIB President Jamie Toole. “It is our honor to honor Mr. Robinson and everything he stood for both on and off the baseball field.”
